In a recent invitation to an iMeet small group function Maggie added “invest in yourself.” It piqued my interest. My initial reaction was, “that makes sense, no risk no gain.” Later I recalled that recent articles are fostering awareness of Social Health. The concept is basically similar to the investments in oneself required for both Physical and Mental Health. Many physically healthy people are committed to diet, exercise and sleep hygiene. Many mentally healthy people practice compassion, gratitude and forgiveness towards self and others. Maggie has advocated taking the leap to make meaningful connections with others by being an attentive and interested listener, being authentic and going beyond small talk (i.e. social health). I think she is a great resource for the Santa Fe community and I find her enthusiasm infectious.
